Value Investment Partners Internship Program & Alumni Events

Jumpstart Your Career in Fund Management and Financial Services

Value Investment Partners (VIP) offers a dynamic internship program designed for high-potential university students and recent graduates aiming to enter the funds management and financial services industry. This program provides an immersive experience that combines technical training, real-world investment insight, and access to senior professionals within the finance sector.

Real-World Exposure

Interns are embedded within VIP’s investment research process, shadowing senior analysts and gaining direct exposure to both top-down macroeconomic analysis and bottom-up company evaluation. From thematic idea generation to security valuation, interns will be involved in real decision-making scenarios.

A key component of the internship includes sitting in on VIP’s Investment Committee meetings, where strategy, portfolio construction, sector rotation, and risk management are discussed. Interns are treated as junior team members and are encouraged to ask questions and contribute ideas in an open, learning-focused environment.

Portfolio Reporting & Technical Training

VIP interns develop advanced technical capabilities using industry-standard tools:

  • Morningstar Direct: for peer benchmarking, performance attribution, and quantitative fund analysis.

  • FactSet: to extract financial data, build company models, and run investment screens.

  • Microsoft Excel & Data Visualisation Tools: to produce client-facing portfolio reports, investor presentation decks, and internal analytics dashboards.

Interns are coached on how to clean raw data, evaluate portfolio performance, and support fund reporting across different client mandates — essential experience for entering a data-driven finance role.

Professional Networking & Industry Access

Beyond analytics, interns take part in VIP’s broader commercial environment. They:

  • Attend fund manager luncheons and presentations

  • Join meetings with Business Development Managers (BDMs)

  • Interact with financial advisers

This access provides insight into how investment products are positioned, communicated, and distributed — bridging the gap between portfolio construction and client engagement.

Where Our Interns Are Now
